Owdo me owd butties, well the Flower Show has bin and gone agen, so as summer is over and the nights are drawing in I thought you might like to read a few more sayings that I have gleaned frum Shropshire books and Shropshire folk. They inna all unique to Shropshire but they have all bin used here, now pay attention there mebbe questions later.

Tighter’n a bung in a barrel – wedged stuck

Darn me liver ‘n’ rags – cursing

I feel like Quaker’s grass – shaking

Keys of heaven – cowslips

I reckon you ‘ull be ready for your coffin afore they ‘ull be ready to make the boards – not long left

Shapin’ for 21 – nearly 21 years owd, age o’maturity

Oh I was born under a fourpenny planet and shall never be worth a groat

A craitchy gate hangs long on the hinges – a sick person’s will to survive

Har bin’ee? – how are you?

I’ll warm your jacket fer you – punish or beat
